The Irish meaning of Dublin is ‘black pool’.  Dublin is administered separately from its respective county and has its own city council.

Landmarks of Dublin:
The Spire of Dublin officially called as monument of light is a statue of Jim Larkin. The height of spire is 122 m.  Dublin Castel where Defensive work on order of King John of England was executed. The happen Bridge is old iron foot bridge over the river Liffey. Other popular landmarks and monuments include the Mansion house, The Anna Livia monument, Christ Church Cathedral, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, The custom house, The Poolbeg Tower  are also iconic feature of Dublin.  Not only Tourists are attracted but being one of big city of Ireland, it attracts business persons also. Due to tourism, there are many hotels in Dublin city.  Guest houses, Bed and Breakfast, Hostels are other options available for tourists. There are many restaurants and pubs to entertain tourists.

There is clear cut difference in hotel and restaurant, but in some part of Asian countries people may replace restaurant word with hotel. Here is the clear difference.
Hotel: It is place where a traveler or tourist can get lodging. Hotel may or may not have a restaurant. Hotel is a large building having many rooms. Some hotels provide more facilities include swimming pool, conference room, cafes and casinos, shopping area, laundry and ironing. Hotels may have star rating from one star to seven stars depending on the services provided by hotel.

Restaurant: It is place where one can get food and beverages out side home. It does not have accommodation facility. Restaurant may have specialty of serving food of different cuisine such as Chinese, Italian, Thai, Indian, and Japanese etc.
There are many famous restaurants in Dublin which serves as per occasion, your budget and your taste. Usually Food of any place is influenced by environment of that place.

Typical Irish Restaurants can offer you, Irish stew, bacon and cabbage, boxty, coddle, and colcannon. Traditional Stew is made from lamb or mutton as well as with potatoes, carrots, Turnips, onions and parsley. Bacon and Cabbage as the name said consists of unsliced back or smoked bacon boiled with cabbage and potatoes. Sometimes other vegetables such as turnips, onions and carrots are also added. Boxty is traditional Irish potato pan cake. Irish meaning of boxty is ‘pour house bread’. Coddle is made from layers of roughly sliced pork sausages and thinly sliced (Rasher) fatty back bacon with sliced potatoes, and onions. Traditionally, it can also include barley. This is an economic dish. colcannon is a traditional Irish dish mainly consisting of mashed potatoes with kale – a cabbage family vegetable or cabbage. The other ingredients are milk, cream, leeks, onions, butter, salt pepper etc. This dish usually eaten in winter as kale is a seasonal vegetable. Common grains used in Irish dishes are wheat, oats and barley. Vegetables widely used are potato, tomato, cabbage, kale, turnip and onion. They have meat of beef, lamb, mutton, chicken, offal and geese. Being an island seafood found here is fish, shellfish, smoked salmon, prawn and lobster.
Whiskey ,Guinness, Irish coffee, Irish cream, Irish mist, Mead, Poitín are common Irish beverages.
